Week 7 - 1/06/2020
Transport Topic 'All Aboard' for Boats Week
Welcome to week 7 of the learning zone. This week is the last week of our transport mini topic and our focus is transport that travels on water, particularly different types of boats and ships.
Living so close to the sea this is a topic perfect for our Mill Strand Nursery Crew. In literacy we will be sharing the story Brilliant Boats by Tony Mitton & Ant Parker. Writing our own messages in a bottle & beginning a new focus for early phonological awareness - alliteration and awareness of initial sounds. In early numeracy we will be continuing to develop our problem solving and sorting skills by sorting objects using two different criteria and making our own sets and collections based on the different properties we can identify. Our topic based learning and outdoor play will see us creating lots of different model boats, painting and creating art with ice cubes and cooking delicious banana boats to enjoy in the sunshine. We are so impressed with all of your home learning during our transport topic so far and can't wait to see some photos and videos of you enjoying this weeks home learning. Don't forget to upload your photos to seesaw regularly. |
Let's Learn All About Boats
Click on the button below to download a power point with lots of different facts about boats and ships. Look carefully at the pictures, have you ever seen any of these boats before? If you could choose to go on an adventure on any of these boats which one would it be and why? Draw a picture of you sailing the seas on one of the boats and send it to your teacher on seesaw.
