Welcome to the Year 2 Learning Zone
We hope everyone is well. With the inevitable closure of schools, we wanted to endeavor to make sure that your child can access their learning at home and hence the Mill Strand learning zone was created.
We do understand that this is a very unusual and uncertain time for everyone. Every home situation will be different and the most important thing at this time is to spend time together, keeping safe and well. Have lots of fun making and doing, reading books, spending time outside and enjoying lots of cuddles - we know Year 2 are very good at these! Please attempt as many of the activities as you possibly can, whilst promoting lots of play - it is so important for your child's development. We will be providing you with lots of ideas to support this! We will also be providing daily Numeracy, Literacy and Topic/World Around Us activities. You will see some pictures of the learning that we have already undertaken this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children and we look forward to working alongside you during the rest of this academic year. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to contact us via Seesaw and we will aim to reply to you within 24 hours. Thank you for your continued support, Sophie, Helen & Lily |
Year 2 Learning Zone Weekly Overviews
Please click on the buttons below to access the Year 2 activities for the weeks indicated. We plan to add new activities and links each week to enable you as parents to access the Curriculum and age appropriate learning activities. The activities will be based on Year 2 Curriculum planning, however you may want to alter them to suit your child's ability level by providing them with extra support or challenges.
As well as the weekly activities, your child will have daily spellings and mental maths. Please click the button below to access the spelling resources.
We have also provided a daily timetable if you wish to use it; please be aware that this is only a guide, and it may not suit everyone's routine. Please do not worry if you follow a different schedule with your child, do what suits you best!
