Our topic this term is B&B's in Portrush (Bugs and Bees in Portrush)
The children should be given the opportunity to explore what is in their garden. Children can investigate the different types of mini beasts found. Questions: What do they look like? Where are they found? How do they move? What do they feel like? How do they feed? What do they eat? |
Numeracy
Mental Maths 10 questions - complete independently then mark together (Daily)
Capacity Estimating and measuring the capacity of different containers. Investigating how to measure the capacity of containers using litres and millilitres. Discuss and select appropriate containers to fit the purpose of the job. Questions: Which container is best to fill a bathtub? A spoon or a bucket? Which container has the biggest capacity? How many cups would it take to fill this bucket? Can you order the containers from the smallest to the largest by guessing their capacity? How many millilitres do you think this container holds? How many millilitres are there in 1 litre |
Literacy
This week we will continue with our spellings - Week 27. Children can complete a spelling worksheet daily to prepare for their weekly spelling test.
New Novel - James and the Giant Peach It would be great if children could access this book. The P4 team will read the chapters and upload the audio tracks onto this site for you to follow and listen to. Talk about the book:
