PDMU
Week 6
Week beginning 25/05/20
This week marks week 1 of our new topic: Seaside Holidays.
To begin our PDMU sessions of our new topic, we are going to read an all time favourite story; The Rainbow Fish.
Once your child has listened to the story discuss the following questions:
- What makes Rainbow Fish so special? Why?
- What makes him individual?
- What makes us special?
- How are we individual?
- What sort of feelings can we feel?
Introduce to your child a 'very sad fish' (the fish template below with no colour) who wants to be individual, just like rainbow fish. Discuss with your child what we could do to make sad fish happy and to make him individual like rainbow fish. Can we make him feel happy, excited, surprised? Encourage your child to think about what sort of things we could do to make him individual and 'stand out' in his/her own way.
Pupil activity: Have your child design their own special and individual fish to display in the house or their room to remind them of these early elements in the story. They can use Rainbow fish as an example. Be creative as you like; simply colour in the fish template with a range of lovely colours or cut and stick some crafts materials onto the template, or maybe you could make a special fish out of paper mâché? See lots of ideas below.
If your child would like to learn some facts about a fish, log onto study ladder and complete the general task under Week 6 Rainbow Fish
