Week 9- Week commencing 15th June 2020
Week 9 already! This will be the final week of planned activities and tasks for Year 5. I just wanted to thank each and every one of you, parents and children, for all your support and hard work throughout the year. You are amazing!
I have shared some quotes below, which I want you all to take away with you from Year 5. I am planning to make up a little video of some of your pictures from throughout the year. When this is complete, I will post on Seesaw.
On a personal note, you have been the most wonderful class for me to teach and learn from as a newly qualified teacher- how blessed I have been. I am so proud of how you have grown this year. You are all stars!
Thank you!

Numeracy
We have been so impressed with how you have progressed with fractions so far! This week we are going to continue with some additional fraction work and we will also explore money.
Below are the links you will need for each topic. Further details will be sent via Seesaw.

Literacy
This week in literacy we will be working on a reading skill called 'Inference'. Have you heard of 'reading between the lines?' Well, that is basically what inference is.
We know there are probably lots of people you haven't been able to see in a while. Maybe someone in your family, like a grandparent or a friend from our class. With this in mind, we thought it might be a nice idea to write a letter to someone. We have written letters before in Year 5 to our friends in Africa, so you are all experts at it!

WAU
Thank you for sharing your progress with your research projects with us. You can continue with these this week. We look forward to seeing them. We are also continuing with our '30 days wild' activity, so remember to check on Seesaw for each daily task.
Have a great week, and as we always say, just do what you can. I will upload to Seesaw on Monday as usual and will be available throughout the week if you have any questions or need any further support or explanation for anything.
